Product Modeling for Manufacturers and Data Entry into Revit Models

For many manufacturers, it is extremely important to have Revit (BIM) product families with all their product information, as well as the options for these products (voltage, power, diameter, height, etc.), so that their clients can download the families from their website or by simply sharing the files.

Having Revit models of each product and family with all the information in a parametric format (which means being able to change heights, widths, diameter, voltages, etc.) greatly facilitates sales.

The reason is that many engineering firms, architecture studios, consultants, and construction companies can use these products modeled in Revit (BIM). This makes it easier to incorporate them into projects and speeds up their completion. Of course, this means that when a project goes to tender or is awarded, your product's standards are already specified in the project, facilitating the final sale.

Creating all the products, entering all the data, and parameterizing the models is a huge workload. For this reason, many clients outsource a Revit specialist drafter to us to perform this work.

In this post, we show you some screenshots where you can see how our drafter is modeling in Revit, entering data, and parameterizing some of it for one of our clients. It is worth noting that our drafter had to adapt to work with their Agile program for task and project management, which you can also see in one of the screenshots. Of course, all the work is supervised by our client, who is the expert in their products and technology. Details of entire plans cannot be shown due to confidentiality issues.
