In this project, our client had a point cloud, which precisely digitized the reality and its real three-dimensional space using thousands of points. This technology provided all the necessary information about the facilities, machinery, and other components of the office building complex in question. With the goal of creating a 3D model and subsequently making the project's plans, our client turned to us for help with specialized Revit personnel.
The process of transforming the point cloud into 3D models and the detailed adaptation of each part of the building would require a considerable amount of time. For this reason, the client opted for the outsourcing of a Revit MEP drafter to perform the modeling in Revit from a point cloud and Autocad diagrams to efficiently advance the project.
The drafter carried out the transformation of the point cloud into solids using Revit and subsequently exported views, sections, elevations, and details to AutoCAD. Additionally, he was in charge of representing the machine diagrams in AutoCAD, which involved a fluid interaction between both applications to meet the drafting requirements.
The attached images show the development process of the 3D model from the supplied point cloud, as well as the creation of cuts, machinery, piping, facades, elevations, and plans of the 3D architectural model. By observing the final results of the project, the considerable time and effort savings that our client achieved by outsourcing our expert Revit modeler is evident.
